While I don’t think companies should cheat or break the laws, I do think the oppressive emissions rules hurt business. People are saying they want to sue VW because they think the company owes them money. Our society loves to sue companies in the hope of getting rich. There are many people in our country who think they are owed something for nothing. With regards to VW, how did their cheating harm any person who owns a VW? There wasn’t a safety issue, no one was harmed or killed. Why does VW owe a buyer of their product any money? VW will be fined for breaking the law and their image is tainted but, no human was harmed by driving one of VW’s vehicles.
VW did break the law but, their product quality is still good. If people enjoy driving a VW, I don’t think they should all of a sudden hate driving a VW because the company tried to bypass the oppressive emission rules. The company will pay for their cheating and I doubt VW will try to cheat again any time soon so VW lovers, continue buying and driving VW’s. Be thankful a safety issue wasn’t cheated on. ~b
