If we look to the past and see all the Science Fiction stories, we will find that a great many devices displayed in those books, shows, and movies have been created. We use so many devices dreamed up by our great Science Fiction authors. Many other products from that genre are currently being tested and displayed today. I don't find it a big stretch to believe that countless other science fiction technologies will be available to us in the future. If you find it hard to believe, that is where you are and that is not bad.
The radio show I listened to discussed humans making their own deity through technology. If you think about it, that is really not a very far fetched idea. If virtual reality becomes so real that we can't tell that it is not real, we can make ourselves god in our own virtual reality. We can become so consumed by our personally created world that our minds will get confused as to what is real and what is not. The creators and owners of this technology will be able to play god with us.
Let's briefly look at what we actually have today...how many of us could comfortably function without our cell phones? How many of us could comfortably function without our Bibles? How many of us could comfortably exist without Facebook? How many of us could comfortably exist without going to church?
Very interesting huh?~b
