I recently watched the movie Ragamuffin. This movie gave us a glimpse into the life of Rich Mullins. I would recommend any christian or non-christian to watch this if you want to see what a 'real' christian's life can be like. I watched it on Netflix.
There are so many misunderstandings about Christians and how our lives should look like. Many Christians believe that they should put on an act of having life in harmony...many non believers think that Christians are hypocrites because we are not perfect. We could go into all the ideologies of how a christian should live and most would be wrong. Humans in general want other humans to think they have life in order, that ones life is better than it is, it simply is the same whether you are a christian or not. I am not saying all people, Christians or otherwise fall into this misconception but, many of us do. According to the movie Ragamuffin, Rich Mullins did not want to be fake, he just wanted to be real. That is how we all should be whether we believe in Christ or not.
Christians are not perfect, Christians are human like the rest of the world. We have struggles, sins, and bad habits just like the rest of the human race. I am far from perfect just like you. There is only one difference between a believer in Jesus Christ and a person who does not believe in Christ...the believer--Believes in Jesus!
A true christian believes in Christ and believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. All humans believe in something, whether it be the American dream, a worldwide utopia, work hard and reap rewards, government, live and let live, etc. A christian believes that one should follow Jesus to heaven so to speak. Does that mean that once a person becomes a christian, you take a magic pill and life is all sunny and orange blossoms? LOL! Really, we do like our fantasies don't we?~b
