I wonder why a person would want to spend their money at a business with people who are rude to them. I remember a restaurant where I delivered products to and one of the cooks was always rude and unfriendly. I have never spent my money at that restaurant and never will as long as that cook is there. The food is said to be real good, the owners seem nice enough but; I will never patronize that restaurant because the business employs this rude unfriendly cook.
Why would a gay couple or a heterosexual couple for that matter, patronize a business where there is unfriendly people? Why do you want to mark one of your most pivotal events in your life with hatred and anger? Why tarnish your wedding day with lawyers and hate? A wedding is supposed to be a wonderful time in a person’s life. Do you think that if you lay the foundation of your wedding on hatred that your marriage will last without continuing with the anger? I would suggest that you should find a business with a warm loving aura to start your marriage with. I would not spend my money at a place that didn’t seem to want me as a customer; I simply won’t patronize unfriendly businesses. If you truly want to have a happy wedding, go have a happy wedding, on the other hand, if you want a wedding corrupted by making a point instead of wanting to spend a lifetime with another human being, then I suppose you will continue to make a point instead of really loving your partner. Seems to me, I would choose loving my partner and having a wonderful wedding day and marriage than starting out with discord. There are plenty of businesses who would accept your money and mine for that matter.
The USA allows its citizens freedoms that far surpass the rest of the world so far. There will likely be fewer freedoms as time goes by because our elected officials are power hungry. It is a shame that we allow a few people to take our freedoms away but, such is our lives. As far as our government demanding that businesses relinquish their freedoms such as what Hobby Lobby had to address, I find overreach on the part of our government. The Hobby Lobby thing is different than a baker or florist refusing to sell products to a customer. The government demanded through a so called healthcare ‘tax’ that; a business owner pay for something they fundamentally disagreed with. How can the USA demand that someone pay out of their own pockets for a practice that goes against those persons religious views? Why must the government discriminate against someone? The baker or florist is not giving their money to a gay marriage; they would be taking money from the couple for a product which is business.
One caveat on the Hobby Lobby issue and other such disagreements: Hobby Lobby, every business in the USA, and every one of us ‘little’ citizens do pay for what we disagree with. Do you know what that is? We pay out of our own pockets to support murderers, thieves, child molesters, rapists, and many other unsavory people. We pay for the livelihoods of everyone behind bars. We all support people we fundamentally, religiously, and morally disagree with. Why must we support a person proven guilty of murder to live for 20 plus years? You see friends; we all support through our taxes many things that go against our rights. Cheers~b
