J.K. Rowling tweeted encouragement to a depressed fan recently. This person tweeted to J.K. Rowling about giving up on life because they couldn't find meaning. The fan even acknowledged that Rowling may not even see the tweet. Well, Rowling not only saw the tweet but sent an uplifting tweet back with some awesome pictures. I was very touched by Rowling taking time to encourage a stranger.
None of us are perfect and it is annoying to me to observe self-righteous people assuming they are better than someone else. It is quite ugly to see someone pontificating with so much pride. I have no problem with authors who write well, for the enjoyment of the writing and the enjoyment for the reader. I am currently writing a fictional novel which explores outer realms of imagination. I am enjoying the project with no misguided objection within my spiritual walk. I am writing for adults however; and not for children. I see no problem in distinguishing art for different age groups. As an adult, I don’t only have to read ‘Green Eggs and Ham’. I am not a sinner because I might read a curse word in a book. I am completely ‘real’, and do not puff up myself against other people. I enjoy my freedom and so should you.~b
