After I left the radio station I turned my phone back on and saw a text from my wife that said, ‘Call me now!’ Apparently, the dog we bought Saturday was sold to us by a lady whose husband did not know she was selling ‘his’ dog. We have only had ‘Nala’, the Boxer we bought since Saturday. We spent almost a hundred dollars at Petco Saturday before we brought the dog home. Though we had only had Nala for a few days, all of us became attached to her especially the kids.
The other family had Nala since she was 5 weeks old and that was a year and a half ago. They were much attached but the man was most attached. Anyway, everyone was emotional and I decided we should sell Nala back to them for what we paid and what we bought at Petco. I spent a lot of time comforting my kids today.
I drove back to Jamestown and met the lady and her two daughters and said goodbye to Nala. The man is out of town working.
This morning in the midst of all the phone calls and text about Nala, I got a phone call from an extended family member who got some rough news. I won’t go into that but it is very emotional as well.
I got one bit of good news. My son and I are helping with a haunted house this year for Halloween. I got a text from a good friend of mine telling me when we will get started. We will start the process August 29th. I am glad this day is behind me. Cheers ~b
