Over two and a half years ago as many of you know, my family and I moved 1500 miles away from everything we knew. We moved with the company I was working for at the time. We sold our house in Alabama and moved into an apartment in North Dakota. At the time of our move, we knew nothing about Bismarck. We chose one of the nicest apartment complexes in Bismarck to live because we felt safe. We simply did not know anyone or anything about neighborhoods etc. We also didn't know if we were going to stay in Bismarck for any length of time. There was a lot of unanswered questions, and we moved up here on a wing and a prayer.
Fast forward to today...we love Bismarck, ND. I no longer work for the company we moved up here for. Our intention is to live up here for years to come. We have decided to buy a house. We haven't lived in an apartment for 20 years until we moved up here, and we are tired of living in an apartment. Now, there are many advantages to living in the apartments we currently live in. We don't have to shovel snow, cut grass, pay for heat or water, and literally anything that needs fixed even up to the shower heads in the showers can be fixed with just a phone call.
We have a big family and we like to have friends over to visit. A house is where we need to be. We have placed an offer on a house and it was accepted. As long as the inspection details are agreed upon we will buy the house. The house is here in town in a pleasant neighborhood. Our kids will have their own rooms and I might even have a man-cave. We are excited and hope all works out to our satisfaction.
We tend to take things for granted till we do without. We will love our house more because we did without, and our kids will learn from this experience. Life is all about experiences and what we take from those events. Cheers~b
