I wanted a cover for this book that was the opposite of God's will. I wanted to create a stark difference between God's will and this fallen world. I didn't want to have a cover that obviously was against God's will when people saw it. I wanted a cover that people wouldn't initially be shocked at by the despair of being outside of God's will. When you look at the cover, you don't immediately realize that the Canadian geese pictured are frozen to death. When a person reads the inside cover is when the realization hits home. Obviously after reading the inside cover you realize that God's will was not for these birds to freeze to death. This paused reaction sets the stage for the rest of the book.
The title including 'LOL...Really' is another amusing backdrop to the book. Most of us tend to make God's will grandiose in nature. While God and his plan is truly grandiose, sometimes we place more than is necessary on our shoulders and feel completely unable to be a part of God's family. We feel like we have to measure up to God, and since we can't, we give up on trying. While God's will is much bigger than us, sometimes our part in this plan is simply to reflect God in our small mirror. We don't have to do something big to please God. We simply have to love. When we love, more attributes will follow along the course of life. I wanted to simplify God's will for us so we don't feel overwhelmed and give up.
In a nutshell, that is my purpose in the cover art and title. Cheers, ~b
