Today Was A Good Day... Happiness followed me today. The sun was shining outside and in my heart. I love it when the struggles of this life take a break from my mind. I had a smile on my face and, joy throughout the day. ~b
Hello my friends! Generally when we think of a pool most of us have blissful thoughts about it. That was me a week ago however; right now I am not delightful. You see, last week we bought an above ground pool and it is big. It is a twenty foot round pool, 52 inches tall. It’s what they call an Ultra Frame Pool.
Our back yard has a slight slant down towards the house or at least, I thought slight. With above ground pools you must get the ground level. My son and I spent many hours leveling the ground. Everything was looking good so we filled the pool with water.
We did not get it completely level. You see, just a hair off according to our level didn’t seem like too much. Well, many very small measurements add up when you are talking about 20 feet. We were off by 4 inches from one side to the next. This is bad folks, it could bust open like we see on YouTube videos.
It is Sunday night as I write this and you will be reading this at the earliest tomorrow when it posts. Friday night we started draining the pool. We are talking over 8600 gallons of water with two hose connectors to drain. The pool still has 20 inches left to drain.
After the water is out of the pool, we will have to focus closely on leveling the ground. If any of you decide to take on a project like this, make certain you level your ground perfectly the first time. Don’t get worn down and say a hair off here or there is fine; especially if your pool is huge.
Maybe in a week I will be blissful about pools again. *smile* ~b
Hi friends! One of my favorite memories as a child was riding my bike all over the place. My bike could take me everywhere. I remember riding about 12 miles to a little town to buy a Slurpee. I rode 14 miles to a town to visit a friend. I would ride all through the country and all over my little town.
I could ride out to a forest and walk around. I would ride out to a creek and go fishing. My bike was my internet to the world around me. I jumped ramps, raced, and did tricks. Those memories of freedom on my bike are priceless.
Life was simple back then. ~b
Hello dear friends. Friendship is a true blessing. We can become friends with a variety of people even if their personalities and beliefs differ from us however; there is always some area of life in which we just click with people.
Think about it, if all our friends were just like us, we would not grow our understanding in a multitude of areas. I enjoy each and every one of my friends.
We also want to spend time with our friends and support them in their endeavors; and as long as those activities aren’t illegal or damaging to us, why not be a part of another person’s life? Last fall I committed to do the stiletto race on the fourth of July before the parade with a friend. My friend is in the radio business and has since expanded his experience to include donations for the charity of his choice which is Walk MS in excess of $2000.00.
So, in Mandan, ND I will be racing in the stiletto race to support my friend and also to get a laugh. I personally have not tried to get any donations, I am just doing it for good times. Enjoy your friends. Cheers, ~b
Greetings. From a Tie seller in Victoria, June 1983: There are two schools of thought about the resilience of time. The first is that time is highly volatile, with every small event altering the possible outcome of the earth’s future. The other view is that time is rigid, and no matter how hard you try, it will always spring back toward a determined present.
Myself, I do not worry about such trivialities. I simply sell ties to anyone who wants to buy one. ~b
I am 45 years old, married, and have 4 children. I dream as a child and think as an adult. I try to enjoy every day along this journey.
